WHAT TO EXPECT-

  • Anticipate any medical problems that could arise during surgery
  • Keep you pain-free through your surgery
  • Relieve anxiety
  • Control your body's reaction to stress
  • Minimize side effects
  • Make your recovery easier

In addition to administering anesthetic during your procedure, your anesthesiologist will monitor your vital body functions, such as breathing, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, heart rate, and kidney functions. He or she will be with you constantly while you're in the operating room.

After surgery your anesthesiologist will closely monitor you for any problems related to your anesthetic and order pain medication as your condition allows.
